Committee on Agriculture

The House Committee on Agriculture is primarily responsible for providing oversight and establishing farm policy for agriculture and rural America in the nation's capital.

The Subcommittee on Nutrition has jurisdiction over policies and statutes relating to nutrition, including the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and domestic commodity distribution and consumer initiatives.

The Subcommittee on Livestock and Foreign Agriculture has jurisdiction over policies, statutes, and markets relating to all livestock, poultry, dairy, and seafood, including all products thereof; the inspection, marketing, and promotion of such commodities and products; aquaculture; animal welfare; grazing; foreign agricultural assistance and trade promotion.

 

Committee on Oversight and Government Reform

The House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform is primarily responsible for investigating fraud, waste and abuse and for providing oversight over the federal government.

The Subcommittee on Government Operations has legislative jurisdiction over almost all of the full Committee’s legislative jurisdiction, including government management and accounting measures, the economy, efficiency, and management of government operations and activities, procurement, grant reform, unfunded mandates, the Office of Management and Budget, federal property, public information, federal records, the federal civil service, the U.S. Postal Service, the Census Bureau, the District of Columbia, and national drug policy.    

The Subcommittee on Interior has oversight jurisdiction over the Departments of Interior, Energy, and Agriculture and the Environmental Protection Agency.
