BLUMENAUER, PLASKETT DISCUSS CARIBBEAN TRADE RESOLUTION WITH CARICOM NATIONS

Washington, DC – House Ways and Means Committee Subcommittee Chair Earl Blumenauer (D-OR) and Congresswoman Stacey Plaskett (D-VI), a Member of the House Ways and Means Committee, released the following statement after a discussion with Ways and Means Members on the status of the Caribbean Trade Resolution:

“The Ways and Means Committee gained valuable insight from the Ambassadors from Barbados, and Trinidad and Tobago, as well as the Secretary-General of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM). We are committed to strengthening U.S. trade and investment with the Caribbean. Our continued engagement with the CARICOM Trade Ministers and policymakers, as well as labor, business, and civil society representatives will further develop our shared multilateral trade agenda in the region. The Ways and Means Committee has a long history of engaging in the Caribbean and we look forward to continuing that engagement in the months ahead.”
