Congresswoman Stacey Plaskett Announces Important Health Grant for The U.S. Virgin Islands

WASHINGTON, DC - Congresswoman Stacey Plaskett, a Member of the House Committee on Agriculture and the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, released the following statement announcing an important Grant for the Virgin Islands:

“I am proud to announce that the Virgin Islands will receive the University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The Department announced that the University of the Virgin Islands would receive a $547,000 award.”

“The University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Grant will improve the flow of disability-related information between community and university. The center will work with people with disabilities, members of their families, state and local government agencies, and community providers in projects that provide training, technical assistance, service, research, and information sharing, with a focus on building the capacity of communities to sustain all their citizens.”
