PLASKETT MOURNS DEATH OF HOUSE COLLEAGUE REP. DONALD MCEACHIN Washington, DC – Congresswoman Stacey E. Plaskett, a Member of the House Ways and Means, Budget and Agriculture Committees, released the following statement expressing her condolences to the family and friends of Congressman Donald McEachin of Virginia: “It is with deep sadness that I convey my condolences to the family, loved ones and friends of Congressman Donald McEachin. Donald had a tremendous work ethic and fought for the people of Virginia’s Fourth Congressional District till the very end. He was a strong advocate for economic opportunity and environmental justice. In 2001, Donald made history becoming the first African American nominee for attorney general of a major party in the Old Dominion. I was grateful for Donald’s acknowledgement and celebration of his Caribbean heritage and his advocacy for the region. “I, my staff, and family are grateful for Congressman Donald’s service, his dedication to his district and our nation. My love and the prayers of my family go out to my Soror and Donald’s wife, Colette and Donald’s pride and joy, his beautiful daughters. I pray for God’s peace and comfort for their family and loved ones.” ### |
