After learning of the sudden passing of revered Virgin Islands newsman, Alvin “Gee” Southwell, Congresswoman Stacey Plaskett issued the following statement:

“It is with a heavy heart that I offer my condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of Mr. Alvin Southwell. Alvin Gee, as we all most affectionately called him, has been a staple in Virgin Islands media for decades and has been one of the most trusted voices in Virgin Islands news. I am certain that anyone who has had a working relationship with Alvin Gee would describe him as a consummate professional. Our community has indeed lost an important voice; a voice that many, like myself, have relied on for the latest in Virgin Islands news. His decades-long service and commitment to our community is unrivaled and will most-definitely be missed,” Plaskett said.
