PLASKETT STATEMENT ON DEATH OF CAPITOL POLICE OFFICER BRIAN SICKNICK Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Stacey E. Plaskett issued the following statement on the death of Officer Brian Sicknick, a twelve-year veteran of the U.S. Capitol Police, who died following the assault on the Capitol on Wednesday: “On behalf of my family, my staff and the House of Representatives, I want to extend my condolences to the family and loved ones of Officer Brian Sicknick, who died after defending the Capitol complex and protecting those who serve and work here. “This tragic loss should remind all of us of the bravery of the law enforcement officers who protected us, our colleagues, Congressional staff, the press corps, and other essential workers on Wednesday. “To honor Officer Sicknick’s memory, we must ensure that the mob who attacked the People’s House and those who instigated them are held fully accountable.” # # # |
