WASHINGTON, DC – Congresswoman Stacey E. Plaskett issued the following statement after visiting with members of the Virgin Islands National Guard who have deployed to Washington D.C. to assist with security for President Biden’s Inauguration: “I was honored to have a chance to thank the Virgin Island National Guardsmen and women who have deployed to Washington, D.C. to help protect the U.S. Capitol and assist with security for the Presidential Inauguration. Under the command of Adjunct General Commander Knox-Limbacker our troops, as usual, conducted themselves in an outstanding manner. “Time after time, our Guardsmen answer the call to serve and they have carried out their mission here with dignity and the utmost professionalism. These men and women represent the very best our Territory and nation have to offer and I thank them for their service. I also want to thank the Virgin Island Association of DC who always come through to show Virgin Islands’ hospitality with their time and gave generous contributions to the troops. VIADC learned that our troops would be in town and made sure they were shown love with care bags and warm Virgin Islands thanks for their service. Thank you all for showing once again why we are VI Strong." ### |
