ST. CROIX- I want to wish all of our students returning to school a safe and successful school year. While today represents a significant step forward for our students in the Virgin Islands most impacted by last year's hurricanes, it also serves as a reminder that there is much work yet in restoring an environment wholly conducive to the needs of our students. It is incumbent on all of us to put our shoulders in to push our children forward, whether that’s supporting access to infrastructure, materials, funding or expanding extracurricular and vocational options, we must all do our part. I want to thank those gifted with one of the most critical roles in our community, the hardworking teachers, administrators, faculty and staff who played an integral role in our students' return to school today. Our community is entirely grateful for your efforts.
