For Immediate Release Contact: Michael J. McQuerry PRESS STATEMENT CONGRESSWOMAN STACEY E. PLASKETT EXPRESSES HER CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF ELLIOT “MAC” DAVIS WASHINGTON, DC—Congresswoman Stacey E. Plaskett released the following statement expressing her condolences to the family and friends of Elliott “Mac” Davis: “My heart is tremendously heavy to hear of the passing of Mac Davis. He came to the Virgin Islands as a young child and in no time adapted our culture and made our home his own. Mac exemplified the beauty of intersectionality through his willingness to embrace the local culture of the Virgin Islands and his commitment to bettering our community through his activism and philanthropy. He faithfully and capably served our territory as V.I. Solicitor General for many years. He was also hugely influential in our St. Thomas community as a devoted Rotarian, Salvation Army Volunteer, and Magens Bay Authority Board member. Mac was well-known for his magnanimous demeanor and his generosity with his time as well as for his great love for his wife and children. “I send my love to his wife, Deborah Kreke Davis as well as his children, Joe, Elizabeth and Elliott, along with all of the loved ones and friends who are grieving Mac’s passing. I pray peace and comfort for your hearts during this time.” ### |
