Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Stacey E. Plaskett (USVI), Ranking Member on the Subcommittee on the Interior, Energy, and Environment released the following statement regarding today’s Democratic Caucus leadership elections:

“I congratulate Representatives Steny Hoyer and Jim Clyburn for being elected by our Democratic Caucus to the respective positions of Majority Leader and Majority Whip, and for Leader Nancy Pelosi in being nominated and having her name advanced to the House Floor for Speaker.

“The 116th Congress presents a new opportunity to make progress on myriad issues, and I know this leadership team will continue advancing a strong agenda for the people that will touch every corner of the United States and its territories and possessions.
