OFFICE OF CONGRESSWOMAN PLASKETT HOSTS 40^TH ANNUAL CONGRESSIONAL ART COMPETITION

St. Thomas, USVI – Last week on St. Thomas, Congresswoman Plaskett’s office held the first of two receptions to announce the winners of the 40^th Annual Congressional Art Competition and to exhibit the artwork of all the participating students. Of the 21 entries, 3 top winners were selected:

1st Place

Savannah Woodson Reeves

VI Montessori School, STT

2nd Place

Shadeyah DeCastro

St. Croix Educational Complex

3rd Place

Alondra Henry

Charlotte Amalie High School

The Congresswoman’s office would like to extend a special thank you to the Virgin Islands Council on the Arts (VICA), the Executive Director, Ms. Tasida Kelch and her staff. Also, to the parents, teachers and judges who continue to cultivate the arts in the hearts and minds of our young people, thank you.

St. Croix’s reception will be held this Thursday, May 12th, 5:30pm at the Frederick Dorsch Cultural Center in Frederiksted.
