PLASKETT ANNOUNCES ADDITIONAL EXTENSION FOR ST. JOHN LAND EXCHANGE PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD

Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Stacey E. Plaskett shared the following statement on the additional extension of the St. John Land Exchange public comment period:

“On April 27, 2023, the National Park Service released responses to the 400 comments received during the January 8, 2023, through March 15, 2023, public comment period on the proposed St. John Land Exchange Notice of Realty Action. Given the engagement of the community, the National Park Service announced an additional 45-day public comment period on the proposed St. John Land Exchange, which will be open through June 9, 2023. 

“I appreciate the active engagement of the Virgin Islands community and particularly the residents of St. John, which has been invaluable to the process. I highly encourage individuals who have not previously submitted comments to do so. Those who submitted comments previously are not being asked to resubmit, as those comments have been heard and considered.

“I look forward to the additional comments, suggestions, and concerns during this public comment period.”
