The offices of Congresswoman Stacey E. Plaskett in Washington D.C., St. Croix and St. Thomas will be closed on Wednesday, June 19th in observance of the Juneteenth holiday. All offices will reopen on Thursday, June 20th.
Juneteenth commemorates the end of slavery in the United States. On Thursday, June 17, 2021, President Biden designated Juneteenth National Independence Day as a legal public holiday. This day represents not only the commemoration of the end of slavery in America, but the ongoing work to bring true equity and racial justice into our society.
