In Commemoration of National Teacher Day, Congresswoman Stacey Plaskett issued the following statement:
“This National Teachers Day I want to thank all teachers across the country, especially the teachers in the U.S. Virgin Islands for their continued efforts in preparing our young people for a next generation economy. Often we take for granted the importance of the work teachers do everyday in—and sometimes out of the classroom. In my view teaching is one of the most noble and important professions. The impact a teacher makes on our lives carries with us long after we leave the classroom. They are truly among the unsung heroes in our community.”
