PLASKETT RELEASES STATEMENT ON SHOOTING AT WEST INDIAN AMERICAN LABOR DAY PARADE

Washington, DC – Congresswoman Plaskett released the following statement:

I was very saddened to hear of the shooting that took place today at the West Indian American Day Parade in Brooklyn. New York’s West Indian American Labor Day Carnival is the largest cultural event in the United States and Canada, drawing millions of visitors each year, and despite the disruption, the festivities continued, demonstrating the resilience and spirit of Caribbean people.

My prayers are with the victims and their families during this difficult time.
